Purpose, Culture & Values

Ephesians 5:23 tells us that "Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior." As part of the Body of Christ, Connection Church is structured as a body. Every person has a body, soul, and spirit. Connection Church is no different. Our body is our Purpose Statement, our soul is our Culture, and our spirit is our Values. These three work together, like a three-fold cord, in giving us focus and propelling us forward.

Below you will see how Connection Church has a body, a soul, and a spirit. Starting Blocks, Step 3 of Connection Course, gives a full explanation of each of these three elements.

Purpose Statement

"We exist to CONNECT people with Jesus Christ and His church FAMILY, to EQUIP them to live and SHARE a Spirit-empowered life, and to develop them for His purpose and SERVICE."

In our Purpose Statement we have five key words that we call our "purpose words."  Each of the Purpose Words communicates a key purpose that every church is called to fulfill. They are...

Connection Church exists to see these 5 purposes fulfilled in the lives of every believer, in our city and around the world.

The "soul" of Connection Church is our culture. Our culture is not what we do but how we go about doing what we do. At Connection Church we strive for a healthy culture. We strive for a culture of...

  • Dependability
  • Innovation
  • Generosity
  • Excellence
  • Supportiveness
  • Teachability

No matter what we're doing in the church, no matter what ministry we serve in, we strive to exemplify these six godly character traits.

Our Values are the spirit of Connection Church... the spiritual foundation of our church. We are 100% committed to...

  1. Biblical Teaching.
  2. Christ-centered Living.
  3. Spiritual Disciplines.
  4. The Person of the Holy Spirit.
  5. Spirit-led Services.
  6. Unity in the Body of Christ.
  7. Diversity: Every Generation & Every Culture.
  8. Reaching Our Community.
