Water Baptism: Sunday, September 15

Being baptized is one of the first and most important steps for a follower of Jesus Christ. After accepting Christ into your life as your Lord and Savior, we are commanded to be baptized in water.

In the Great Commission, found in Matthew 28:19-20, Jesus told His disciples "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you."

In Acts 2:37-38, after Peter preached to a crowd of thousands on the day of Pentecost, the people "were cut to the heart, and said to Peter.... 'what shall we do?' And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.'"
